Flo Burned Down

I woke up yesterday to the news that Flo has burned down and is completely destroyed. It's been a whole day and I still can't believe it. I spent so many nights hanging out there and I pass by it all the time and now it's gone.

According to the news the fire started from some boiler problems and then spread. I don't think anyone was majorly hurt though.

Here are some pictures of the damage:

Phone Covers!

I've decided to start crocheting phone covers! I'm always putting my BlackBerry down everywhere and throwing it in my bag and I'm sick of worrying about it getting scratched. Most of the covers I found cover the back, but they don't protect the front at all.

I finally had some free time and went to get new yarn for this project. I usually buy most of my yarn from Smiley's Yarns. They sell yarn at a discounted price, which is great. And an added bonus is that they are having a sale this week. You should definitely pass by if you are in the New York City area.

Ongoing Crochet Projects

As I sit here in front of the computer where I'm supposed to be writing my philosophy paper, I can't help but have the urge to write my first official post.

So I've decided to let you know about the crochet projects I have been working on lately. I can never work on just one project, so I always have a few going on.

The first is a pink and white striped afghan that I started a couple months ago but keep putting aside to work on smaller projects. I've been using Red Heart Super Saver 100% acrylic yarn but now I wish I would have selected something a bit softer.

Lately, I've been mostly crocheting hats because I can finish them in one sitting and I love the feeling I get when I finish creating one of them. I have also started making a scarf to match this black hat I made, but with the warm weather coming up I'll probably have to wait until next winter to wear it.

If you are interested I can post pictures so you can see my progress.
