Work in Progress
I started working on this scarf many months ago when it was still cold out, but put it aside to work on other things. I recently came back to it, and am about half way done with it. It's made from 50% merino wool and 50% silk to match my black hat (seen here). With all the rain we've had in NY recently it was starting to seem weather appropriate again, but we've finally got some sun today. Just in time for my last paper and the start of summer. Or the week of summer until classes start again.
Unexpected Finds
My greatest purchases always happen when I'm not searching for anything in particular, or searching for the complete opposite. This past weekend I accompanied my mother on a mini shopping trip and found the most perfect black flats. Black flats are my go to shoes once the weather warms up. Although flats are all over the place, I tend to have trouble finding that perfect pair that goes with almost anything and are comfortable as well.
I also found the cutest small cross-body bag which I haven't been able to stay away from since I purchased it. I find it so much more convenient than a big purse on days spent out.
The rest of my weekend was spent relaxing and enjoying the short-lived break from school work with some homemade crepes (a favorite since childhood).
First Hats
This is the first hat I ever made, and also the first crochet project I completed. It's made from 50% merino wool and 50% silk. It's so soft and light I sometimes forget I have it on.
This red hat was my second creation (also seen here). It's made out of a bulkier yarn that is 100% acrylic, perfect for those colder winter days.
I'm actually very proud of how they came out. I spent a lot of time unraveling my work and redoing it until it looked how I pictured it.
Mother's Day
I spent the day with family. All the women got together for an afternoon of stories, catching up, reminiscing and of course good food. It's always nice when we can have one of these get togethers since they don't happen too often.
Pictured above is a Romanian dessert, Rozeta.
We also had cake since my grandma's birthday is on Wednesday, but I forgot to take a picture of it before we cut it, sorry.

Baby Blanket
Meet Twinkle Toes! I've been working on this baby blanket in Twinkle Toes (a light peach pink) and Pixie Dust (an off-white, cream color) for a while now. I'm really enjoying it, but it's taking longer than I had expected.
This is as far as I've gotten so far, and it's been almost a month since I first started it.
A better view of the texture.
This blanket will be available in my Etsy store once I finish it. I hope whoever buys it is going to love it as much as I do.
P.S.: How amazing was the Royal Wedding? And Kate's dress?
